Anthrax es una banda de Thrash metal formada en New York que realizó su primer álbum de larga duración en el año 1984 con el mensaje de festejar a todo tiempo y hora. La banda fue una de las más populares en la escena del Thrash metal en los años 80, aunque decayeron al pasar los años. Es conocida por la combinación del rap con el metal y sus apariciones con varias bandas de rap en los escenarios. Son llamados los padres de rap metal por la canción "Bring the Noise" (colaboración con Public Enemy). Es considerado como uno de los cuatro grandes del thrash metal junto a Metallica, Slayer y Megadeth ocupando el puesto N°4, procediendo a Slayer.
