Within Temptation es una banda Holandesa de Melodic/Symphonic/Gothic Metal originada en el año 1996. Personalmente, no es una banda especialmente de mi gusto, pero tiene buenas canciones y se ha convertido poco a poco en uno de los máximos exponentes del Symphonic Gothic Metal sin entrar en ningún tipo de debate. Within Temptation está liderada por su vocalista Sharon Den Adel, y muestran un Metal Sinfónico que evoluciona musicalmente disco tras disco, entrelazandolo en un principio con el Gothic Metal y escapando poco a poco hacia un Metal Sinfónico/Melódico con algun que otro tinte gótico en su sonido o en sus letras. Todos sus discos en general son buenos, pero si tengo que destacar, recomiendo "The Silent Force", "The Heart of Everyting", "Mother Earth y "The Unforgiving".
