Lacuna coil es una banda de metal italiana que se formo en el año 1994. En sus inicios el nombre de la banda fue Sleep of right y luego Ethereal. Su estilo va desde el metal gotico,pasando por el metal alternativo y tambien por el heavy metal.
Lacuna coil ha sido influenciada por bandas del ambiente del metal gotico como tambien por bandas estadounidenses del heavy metal. Ha participado en los festivales mas grandes del genero del mundo a nivel internacional.
